Panic-stricken Israeli settlers hide in underground shelters as Iranian missiles hit targets

Israeli settlers in Tel Aviv and across the occupied Palestinian territories were asked to hide in underground shelters as a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles struck their intended targets.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli settlers in Tel Aviv and across the occupied Palestinian territories were asked to hide in underground shelters as a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles struck their intended targets.

Israeli media reported that the Benjamin Netanyahu regime issued emergency orders to settlers to shift into hideouts until further notice.

Some pictures circulating on social media networks showed panic-stricken settlers hiding under bridges, in underground tunnels, and subways as sirens continued to blare across the occupied territories.

Footage showed Iranian missiles hitting important military installations and evading much-hyped Israeli air defense systems, with plumes of smoke and fire brightening the night sky.

Preliminary reports suggest that at least 90 percent of missiles hit their intended targets, sending ripples of shock across the occupied territories.

Israeli regime authorities had activated air raid sirens as the ballistic missiles approached, however, the missiles managed to intercept the multiple layers of air defenses.

Israeli media also reported that Netanyahu and his war ministers went into hiding as Iranian missiles pounded occupied territories on Tuesday night.

Israeli media channels quoted unnamed regime officials as saying that the embattled premier had been transferred to an underground facility after Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles.

The retaliatory operation was launched around 8:15 local time on Tuesday, three days after Hezbollah resistance movement leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and some of his associates were assassinated in an Israeli bombing in the southern suburb of Beirut on Friday.

In a statement after the attack was launched, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said the operation was a response to the assassination of Nasrallah, former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian in a statement said a "decisive response" was given to the Israeli regime as an act of self-defense. He said Iran is not for war, but will decisively deal with threats

There is still no confirmation about the number of casualties in the attacks.
