AhlulBayt News Agency: Leading organizations, political parties, and influential figures have eulogized Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the martyred leader of the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, highlighting that his legacy will show results on the battlefield against the Zionist enemy.
At a ceremony on Sunday night in Cape Town, South Africa, speakers reflected on the varied role the resistance icon played in various spheres of society, the political arena, religion, and the ongoing struggle to liberate al-Quds.
Cassiem Khan, a representative for the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) political party, notes: “The enemy, the settler colonialists, believes that Palestine belongs to them, that the region belongs to them, and especially after this genocidal war they believe the world belongs to them.
“But Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reminded us that this enemy is ‘weaker than the spider's web’, and he showed us how weak they were on 7 October 2023 when with the first barrage of rockets he divided this enemy force and forced a third of this occupation force to move away from Gaza.
“He also caused those settlers - because all Israelis are settlers - who live in those towns and villages on the border to move away and they are still gone and they have not returned. And we hope that they never return.”
As the Zionist aggression against Lebanon intensified, speakers warned of the dangers of the Israeli regime’s plan to expand, urging for unity.
A representative for the Qibla Movement, which was part of South Africa’s liberation struggle against the Western-backed Apartheid regime highlighted that the martyrdom of Sayyed Nasrallah was a miscalculation.
“We, the people of humanity, must expect that their crimes will increase as the resistance stands firm against their psychopathic frenzy. How else can you explain the use of 80 tons of explosives used to target one person? This is not an act of a confident enemy. This is an act of a cornered and wounded enemy. And this is the victory of Hassan Nasrallah. This is the victory of Hezbollah.”
While acknowledging that the resistance movement has experienced a setback, speakers recalled the divine promise that victory will be achieved by those who are truthful and struggle in the path of God.
A community activist said the flame of resistance will continue to burn.
Said Imraan Mukaddem, “The flame of resistance in our hearts and the love of martyrdom - as long as we have that - we will always be victorious.
“We are not defeated, we are not scared, and we are not ashamed of our leaders falling and being martyred the way they have.”
