AhlulBayt News Agency: Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah was martyred in Dahieh, Beirut during the ferocious attack of Zionists on Friday, after a lifelong struggle in the way of liberation of Lebanon and Palestine.

Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was the third Secretary General of Hezbollah of Lebanon and one of the founders of this anti-terrorist and anti-Israel movement in 1982. Nasrallah was appointed as the secretary general of Hezbollah after the martyrdom of Sayyed Abbas Mousavi in 1992 by the Zionist regime.

The Lebanese Hezbollah turned into a regional power during his era and ably staged numerous operations so that in 2000 it forced Israel to withdraw from Lebanon. He was a personality whom Ayatollah Khamenei described as "great mujahid, Sayyed and banner-bearer of resistance."

Life, birth, family

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the great figure of Lebanon and the world, was born on August 31, 1960 in eastern Beirut. He was the elder child among 9 siblings. His father, Sayyed Abdul Karim, and his mother, Nahdieh Saffieddine, were from Bazurieh village of Sur city in southern Lebanon and had migrated to Beirut.

The Seyyed of resistance returned to his village in 1975 and continued high school studies in Sur. At the age of 16, upon the encouragement of Seyyed Mohammad Gharawi, the Friday prayer leader of Sur and a friend of the noted Iraqi thinker and jurisprudent, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Baqer Sadr, he migrated to Najaf for acquisition of religious studies. Gharawi, in a letter, introduced Sayyed Hassan to Martyr Sadr. Thus, Martyr Ayatollah Sadr assigned Martyr Sayyed Abbas Mousavi to look after Sayyed Hassan's scientific condition and meeting his needs.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah finished the preliminary studies of seminary and, due to the Ba'athist regime pressures, left Najaf for Lebanon after two years. After the foundation of Imam al-Muntadhar seminary school in Baalbek, he continued his religious studies while teaching simultaneously. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah married in 1978 at the age of 18 with Fatimah Yasin. The result of this marriage were 4 sons and one daughter.

Sayyed Hadi, the first child of Sayyed Hassan, was martyred in southern Lebanon in clashes with the Zionist occupying military in 1997 when he was just 18.

Social and political activities

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah started political activities in the prime of his youth. Due to his love of Imam Musa Sadr, the great Iranian scholar who had migrated to Lebanon and founded the Supreme Assembly of Lebanon and Amal Movement, Sayyed Hassan joined him. Imam Musa Sadr was among the theorists of co-existence of faiths and sects. Sayyed Hassan and his brother, Sayyed Hossein, were heads of Amal in Bazurieh. Amal was formed for defense of the Lebanese people and military confrontation with the Zionist regime.

After the Israeli attack to Lebanon in 1982, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and a number of combating scholars separated from Amal and, with the aim of more active struggle, founded Hezbollah as a freedom-seeking anti-Zionist movement.

Sayyed Hassan concentrated his activities on Hezbollah from 1982-1992. Besides his presence at the central council of the movement, he was in charge of preparation of resistance forces and mobilization of military cores to fight the Zionist regime occupation of Lebanon. For a while, he was the deputy of Ibrahim Amin al-Seyyed, Hezbollah's senior official in Beirut, and later on his executive deputy.

After the martyrdom of Sayyed Abbas Mousavi, the second Secretary General of Hezbollah on February 16, 1992, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was unanimously appointed to the post by the council members. He was 32 years old at that time.

The Lebanese Hezbollah has gained a lot of victories against the Zionist regime and the Takfiri terrorist groups during his leadership. The most important ones were the liberation of southern Lebanon in 2000 and obliteration of the fabricated DAESH government in Iraq and Syria with the cooperation of the great commander of the IRGC Qods Force, Martyr Qasem Soleimani. That's why he was known as the Sayyed of resistance.

Furthermore, owing to exemplary resistance against Israel and repeated victories against this fake regime, he turned into the most loved and popular leader in the Arab world in the contemporary era.
