Israeli war on Lebanon: Renewed airstrikes on southern suburbs of Beirut and Tyre

Israeli occupation aircraft launched new airstrikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and the old neighborhood in the city of Tyre, on Saturday evening in addition to continuing to target various areas and villages in the Bekaa, the south, and Mount Lebanon, following a night of intense shelling in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli occupation aircraft launched new airstrikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and the old neighborhood in the city of Tyre, on Saturday evening in addition to continuing to target various areas and villages in the Bekaa, the south, and Mount Lebanon, following a night of intense shelling in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the enemy aircraft carried out an airstrike around the Shiyah area in the southern suburbs of Beirut, prompting ambulances to rush to the scene.

Israeli aircraft conducted two airstrikes targeting the old neighborhood in the Lebanese city of Tyre. Additionally, they carried out an airstrike on the town of Anqoun and another on the town of Migdoun.

Lebanese Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad announced on Saturday afternoon that since the beginning of October 8, 2023, there have been “1,640 martyrs, including 104 children and 194 women, and 8,408 injured.”

In a press conference in Beirut, Al-Abyad said that “the ministry recorded 11 martyrs and 108 injuries since yesterday (Friday).” He added, “From October 8, 2023, to September 15, 2024, 610 martyrs have fallen, including 38 women and 17 children, in addition to 2,056 injuries.”

He pointed out that “from the 16th (two days before the explosions of wireless communication devices across Lebanon) until September 27, 1,030 martyrs have risen, including 156 women and 87 children, and 6,352 injuries.”

The minister continued that “the total numbers since the events began in October last year stand at 1,640 martyrs, including 104 children and 194 women, and 8,408 injuries.” He noted that “there are still martyrs under the rubble, as well as missing persons and body parts.”

On September 17 and 18, dozens were martyred, and thousands more, including children and women, were injured in a wave of explosions that struck wireless communication devices of the “Pager” and “ICOM” types in Lebanon.

According to a monitoring report by Anadolu, based on data from Lebanese authorities, the most intense and extensive attack by the Israeli army on Lebanon, which began on September 23, resulted in 783 martyrs, including children and women, and 2,312 injured, as of Saturday morning.

Israeli warplanes targeted several homes in the vicinity of Khirbet in Tyre, near the Latin church. They also conducted two airstrikes on the towns of Khiam and Jwaya, and the towns of Shahtiya and Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain.

The occupation warplanes launched a series of airstrikes targeting the city of Baalbek and its surroundings, according to Al-Mayadeen’s reporter in northern Bekaa. Israeli airstrikes also targeted Al-Bazaliyeh, Shaat, Shumsar, and Tarya in Baalbek District.

The National News Agency reported that the occupation aircraft carried out violent airstrikes on central Bekaa, specifically targeting the towns of Riyaq, the Al-Karak plain, and the heights between Qammal al-Tuwaiti and Hazarta, while an Israeli airstrike targeted the Al-Wad neighborhood inside the city of Baalbek.

In the south, media sources reported an Israeli airstrike targeting the towns of Tyre Daba in Tyre District. Israeli airstrikes also targeted the towns of Haboush, Kfar Tebnit, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Deir al-Zahrani, Kfour, and Breqa in Nabatiyeh District.

From midnight until the morning hours, the occupation warplanes had launched airstrikes on the villages of Ma’arakah, Dabbal, Zbeqin, Haris, Barachit, Al-Shabriha, Al-Masakin, Al-Burj Al-Shamali, Ain Baal, Al-Sama’iyah, Zawtar, Al-Bazouriyah, and Haboush.

In Mount Lebanon, an airstrike targeted Bhamdoun, while another targeted the outskirts of Faqra in Jbeil. Early today, occupation aircraft carried out dozens of airstrikes in the form of fire belts on the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
