Marjaiah stands against the crimes of the Zionist regime: Ayatollah Ramazani

Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Today Islamic Marjaiah stands against the Zionists’ crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.”

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): On Wednesday, September 26, 2024, Ayatollah Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, gave a speech at the commemoration ceremony of the late Grand Ayatollah Mahfouzi in the Rafa’at Mosque, Qom.

In this ceremony, after pointing out the characteristics of the late Ayatollah Mahfouzi, and honoring his memory, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “The Islam scholars are introduced as the trustees of the prophets. But to reach such a position, they must have certain attributes. According to the hadiths, religion should be entrusted to someone who has purified and educated himself.”

“The scholars are the trustees of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) who should give people both good tidings and warnings,” Ayatollah Ramazani continued, “Islamic scholars play a role in reforming human affairs. They are entrusted with guidance and religion.”

“In the book Nahj al-Balaghah, Imam Ali (a.s.) said that if the four groups of people fulfill their duties, society will not have any problems: if scholars teach the ignorant; if the ignorant learn; if the rich use their wealth properly; and if the poor recognize their social position. God has provided tools to reach knowledge to everyone and if someone uses them, he becomes a scholar. There is such a capacity in every human being, provided that he educates himself,” he continued.

Regarding the characteristics of a divine scholar, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Religious scholars must guide people. In a hadith, Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.) said: “If a jurist controls his soul, preserves his belief in religion, opposes his desires, and obeys God’s commandments, everyone must emulate him.” In another hadith, Imam Ali (a.s.) said: “He who does not train his ego is a loser.” Only someone who is not self-centered and does not have arrogance can control his ego. Such a scholar can educate people. A jurist must be the protector of religion. Because people have entrusted their religious affairs to him.”

About some doubts raised against Islam, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Some intellectuals constantly raise doubts against Islam. For example, they say that some verses of the Quran, which are related to Jihad and resistance, should be omitted. Others raise the doubt that the language of the Quran is Arabic and cannot be used by everyone! This is despite the fact that the Quran, in addition to the language of expression, Arabic, has a language of understanding, that is intellect and reason. There are 300 verses in the Quran about intellect and Fitrah. Quran illuminates the path for man.”

Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly further stated, “Referring to the Sources of Emulation is rational. One of the necessary conditions for religious scholars is to oppose the ego. Therefore, a Faqih (jurist) should not interfere his personal and sensual desires in issuing a fatwa but should only express the divine ruling according to the sources and inferences. A Faqih (jurist) before everything must educate and purify himself. People should follow a Faqih who controls his desires and obeys the divine commands.”

Islamic Marjaiah’s stand against the Zionists’ crimes

At the end of his speech, about the Islamic Resistance, he said, “The seminary should train ulama who do not fail to illuminate people, are up to date, and stand against heresies. Today, the enemies of Islam have united to destroy Islam. Islam, in the true sense of the word, introduces the enemies well. Today Islamic Marjaiah stands against the Zionists’ crimes in Gaza and Lebanon. If the current situation continues and we do not enter the field, the enemies will become conquerors. Islamic Marjaiah in Najaf and Qom has declared their positions regarding this issue. Islamic ulama should fulfill their duty to identify enemies.”
