A Lebanese security source said that an Israeli airstrike hit the Saadiyat area near Beirut at dawn Wednesday, a few hours after a raid on the southern suburb of the capital.

Al-Jazeera reported that Israeli warplanes launched raids on several towns in the Baalbek district in eastern Lebanon also at dawn.

According to the National News Agency, Israeli overnight attacks were extended to the city of Baalbek and its outskirts, leading to many martyrs and wounded in addition to the destruction of property including homes, factories, warehouses, stores, and even schools.

The windows of the houses surrounding the targeted areas were shattered as a result of the force of the attacks, it added.
