AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Chairman of the Ashura International Foundation, stated, “Dedicating a week to Islamic Unity after the Islamic Revolution of Iran, has brought the hearts and views of Islamic ulama and intellectuals together, and has created alignment and consensus in the Islamic Ummah.”
“About a year has passed since the Zionist attack on Gaza, and during this time, we witnessed the sacrifices of our Muslim brothers and sisters in this land. The resistance of the Palestinian people inflicted the biggest and heaviest fatal blows on the body of the Zionist regime,” he said.
“Today, we see that the Zionist regime is going through its worst historical period economically, politically, militarily, and internationally, and unfortunately, we must admit that some Islamic countries have not been able to fulfill their duties this year. If they did their duties, today Gaza would not be dealing with these problems,” Ayatollah Akhtari pointed out.
“The Islamic Ummah presented many martyrs in this way, one of whom was Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, who sacrificed himself and his children to defend the Palestinian Cause. The Islamic world must seek solutions to defend the Palestinian nation and the Resistance Axis, in its meetings and conferences,” Ayatollah Akhtari added.
Akhtari asked the Islamic countries why they are indifferent. “Why is the Islamic Ummah indifferently witnessing the killing of more than thousands of oppressed and innocent women and children? Why do we see the destruction of schools, universities, camps, etc.? The main infrastructure of people’s lives in Gaza has been destroyed, and unfortunately, some Islamic countries have not taken effective steps to prevent these crimes, and they do not stop the brutal actions of the occupying regime.”
The Chairman of Ashura International Foundation stated, “Islamic scholars and intellectuals should know that the problems of the Islamic world will not be solved by just talking, and talking will have no effect unless they come up with a solution and make a practical decision about it.”
In this regard, Ayatollah Akhtari continued, “Muslims must declare their readiness and take practical measures in the field of the liberation of Palestine. The International Conference on Islamic Unity provides a suitable opportunity for the ulama of Islam to present their proposals and reach the main solution through dialogue. All the Islamic Ummah should know that we are all responsible before God and the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) about the Gaza issue.”
“What kind of Islam is this that some leaders of Islamic countries claim to believe that they do not help the Palestinian people? In the Quranic verses, God has repeatedly emphasized that “stand against the enemies and remember God, that His promise is true”,” he continued.
“Islamic countries have the means by which they can force the occupying regime and the criminal America to accept a ceasefire,” noted the Chairman of Ashura International Foundation.
“By forming several working groups and committees, we must rush to help the Palestinian people and raise public pressure against the occupying regime,” he added, “We must try to get international organizations to defend the rights of Palestinian Muslims who have been oppressed for more than 70 years.”
“Muslim countries should boycott the occupying regime with their economic resources. But unfortunately, we see that some Islamic countries still support the regime,” Ayatollah Akhtari stated.
“Shouldn’t the Islamic countries, as a unified movement, order Jihad against this occupying regime and put countering it on the agenda and make efforts in this field?” he continued.
“Almighty God’s promise is the absolute truth, and the occupying regime is in decline and destruction. But, as the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) said, the Islamic world will not see peace until Israel is eradicated. Therefore, everyone who loves peace, tranquility, and security, must stand united and courageously stand and fight against criminal Israel,” said the Chairman of Ashura International Foundation at the end of his speech.
