Quran memorization courses launched at Amirul Muminin School in Abuja, Nigeria

The Amirul Muminin (AS) School in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, has launched Quran memorization courses for boys and girls.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Amirul Muminin (AS) School in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, has launched Quran memorization courses for boys and girls.

The courses began last week and will run for two months, according to the Islamic culture and Relations Organization.

The school is affiliated to the Iranian Cultural Center in Nigeria.

The lessons are taught by Local Quran teachers, according to the report.

Majid Kamrani, the Iranian Cultural Attaché, said at the opening ceremony that the courses are held on Saturdays and Sundays in two separate groups for boys and girls.

He stressed that acquaintance with the Quran and making efforts to benefit from its teachings not only have spiritual blessings for individuals, families and the society but also bring about peace and happening in life.

The Iranian Cultural Center in Nigeria has put it on its agenda to make use of the capacities of religious and grassroots institutes to promote Quranic activities.

Nigeria is a country on the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa.

About 50 percent of the country’s population is estimated to be Muslim, while 40 percent are Christians and 10 adhere to local religions.
