AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has denounced an Arab news outlet for twisting excerpts from the interview conducted recently by the New York Times with head of its foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal with the aim of besmirching its position on Gaza talks.
In press remarks on Wednesday, senior Hamas official Hisham Qasem highlighted his Movement’s crystal clear position on the ceasefire talks, its positive response to several initiatives that would serve the Palestinian people’s interests and its keenness on reaching a deal ending the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
“The one who bears responsibility for disrupting the course of negotiations is Netanyahu, as well as his fascist government, who insists on setting new conditions that impede the efforts to reach an agreement — something that has become obvious to everyone, including the mediators,” Qasem said.
The Hamas official called on that media outlet that tried to distort the Movement’s position to always seek the truth, respect the principals of ethical journalism and the media codes of honor, and refrain from promoting the Israeli occupation regime’s false narrative.
