AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The second edition of "Warith Al-Anbiya" International Calligraphy Competition wrapped up in Iraq with winners and organizers receiving awards.
The "Ata' Al-Warith" hall witnessed a ceremony on Sunday evening, September 15, 2024, honoring the judging and organizing committees, as well as the winners of the competition, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The event began with a recitation by Salah Al-Sharikani, a reciter from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), followed by a speech from Sheikh Khayruddin al-Hadi, head of the Quranic Affairs Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).
In his speech, Sheikh Al-Hadi praised the efforts of the organizing and judging committees, emphasizing that creativity should be a top priority for every specialist.
He further explained that the success of this competition and the commemoration of the participants' names are due to the blessings of Imam Hussein (AS).
Calligrapher Awni Al-Naqqash expressed his gratitude to the organizers, praising the exchange of experiences among the participating calligraphers.
He proposed organizing a conference to develop this art and address its strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the next season.
The ceremony continued with the honoring of the judging committee, which included a group of prominent calligraphers, followed by the honoring of the organizing committees.
Winners from both inside and outside Iraq were also honored.
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein witnessed the launch of the second season of the "Warith Al-Anbiya" International Calligraphy Competition on Saturday, September 14, 2024, attended by a large number of enthusiasts and lovers of this ancient art.
The event included the opening of an Arabic calligraphy exhibition showcasing the participants' creations, along with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein.
