AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A mosque open day in Glasgow, Scotland, is planned to be held later this month with the aim of building community bonds.
The Al-Furqan Islamic Center, on Carrington Street, will hold the Mosque Open Day on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday 29 as the West End center seeks to build bridges in the community following recent unrest in parts of the UK.
It comes after a "pro-UK rally" against "illegal mass immigration" took place on George Square on Saturday, September 7.
It was supported by far-right figures such as Tommy Robinson who shared the event on social media.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the mosque, learn about Islamic culture through an ‘Islam and the Scots - the Historical Links’ exhibition, and enjoy a selection of refreshments.
The Mosque Open Day will have activities for all age groups and is part of Al-Furqan Islamic Center’s ongoing commitment to promoting understanding and cooperation within the local community.
Through these efforts, the center seeks to demystify aspects of Islam, encourage open conversations, and strengthen relationships within Glasgow’s richly diverse society.
Haq Ghani, outreach coordinator at Al-Furqan Islamic Centre, said: "In a world where misunderstandings can create division, our ‘Visit my Mosque’ day is a chance to bring people together.
"Our mosque is not only a place of worship but a place of community, learning, and friendship.
"We invite everyone to visit, ask questions, and share in the values of respect and unity that we all hold dear."
