AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has employed an advanced homegrown spherical rotary engine, named Vahab, in its satellite carriers.
The Qassed and Qaem satellite carriers, developed by the IRGC Aerospace force, have successfully launched five satellites into orbits at various altitudes over the past four years.
Tasnim has obtained information that the satellite carriers have been furnished with Vahab as the combustion engine used in the third stage of the launch.
Vahab is a spherical rotary engine that runs on solid fuel. It is equipped with small and accurate propulsive components that allow for the precise adjustment of injection of satellites into a space orbit.
The IRGC’s satellite carriers furnished with Vahab engine have sent the Noor-I, Noor-II, Noor-III, Sorayya and Chamran-1 into orbits 430 km to 750 km above the Earth’s surface so far.
In the early hours of Saturday, Iran successfully launched the Chamran-1 research satellite aboard the Qaem-100 satellite carrier.
