Ahlulbayt News Agency: At least 14 people were martyred and four others wounded in a terrorist attack on a group of Shiite Muslims in Sang-e-Takht-e-Bandar town of central Afghanistan's Daikundi province.
An eyewitness said: On Thursday, September 12, 2024, around 1 pm, 18 people from the village of Qaryodal in Sang-e-Takht-e-Bandar city of Daikundi province, Afghanistan, went to greet the travelers who had returned from Karbala Arbaeen pilgrimage on the hill of Kham Sefid between Daikundi and Ghor. They crossed the white hill and entered the territory of Ghor province in the Palusang area. Four gunmen on two motorcycles stopped them on the pretext of taking group photos. Then the two of terrorists filmed and two others shoot them. As a result, 14 people were martyred and four others were wounded.
"I went to the scene myself and with the help of others we took the bodies to the village," he said. Thirteen of the martyrs were from Daikundi village and one was from Ghor province who had gone to Sang-e-Takht and Bandar city for dentistry.
The eyewitness continues his observations from the village of Qaryodal as follows: When I returned from Palu Sang, a village near the scene of the incident, it was late at night.
When I descended from the white hill to the village of Qaryodal, I felt that a terrible thing had happened.
The sound of women and children crying was loud from all the houses in the village. Near the village's Hosseinieh, I saw 13 bodies lying next to each other. It was a strange scene, I didn't see anyone else, there were only three old men who didn't know what to do, sometimes they went inside the Hosseinieh and sometimes they came out and looked at the bodies of the martyrs.
I approached one of the three old men and said, "Sir!" Didn't hear. I shook his arm with my hand, he looked at me in fear, but said nothing, tears streaming from the corners of his eyes unconsciously. I said: Uncle, is there no one else to help you? Again, he said nothing. He looked at the houses of the village and another at the bodies of the martyrs. He wanted to say that there was no other man left alive in this small village except us three old men.
The screams of women and children came out of the houses and echoed in the mountains around the village, creating an atmosphere of sadness.
The US-Saudi backed terrorist group of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
