AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The head of Jammu and Kashmir Shia Sharia Association described the waqf amendment bill as a sinister conspiracy to usurp the property of Muslims and said, "Protection of endowment property is the duty of all Islamic nation."
The head of Shia Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Hasan Mousavi Safavi, requested the Islamic nation to vote widely against the "Joint Parliamentary Committee" against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 of Jammu and Kashmir and send their opinions to make it clear to the government that there is no need for an amendment bill, if this amendment bill is implemented, it will cause a lot of damage.”
He further voiced his concerns regarding the new amendment regarding Islamic endowment, saying "Endowment property is not the property of the government, but it is the personal property of Muslims, which is donated for religious purposes. The role of endowment board of trustees is only to regulate them, but now that the bill proposes non-Muslim membership, this bill prohibits non-Muslims from endowment of their property.”
Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Mousavi strongly condemned the ban of holding Friday prayer in the Grand Mosque and added,” Now the government decides whether the Friday prayer can be held or not. “
