AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior official of Lebanon’s Hezbollah said the Zionist enemy will not be able to reach its goals in Lebanon and in Gaza.
Seyyed Hashem Safieddine, head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, made the remark in an address to a ceremony held on the 40th day after the martyrdom of Fuad Shukr.
The top-ranking Hezbollah military commander was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in the suburbs of southern Beirut on July 30.
Safieddine said the fighters in the Gaza Strip and Southern Lebanon are confronting the Israeli regime bravely and will inflict defat on the evil enemy, al-Mayadeen reported.
Nearly a year after the war (on Gaza), the occupation regime is in a desperate situation and a deep crisis, he stated.
An army that considered itself to be legendary has had no achievement but worries and has failed to achieve its objectives despite bringing about destruction, famine, massacre, and blockade (in Gaza), he said.
The senior cleric also lauded the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, carried out against Israel by the Hamas resistance movement on October 7, 2023, saying that the operation was the manifestation of the resolve of the resistance and that it shattered the Zionist regime’s project.
Israel unleashed the Gaza onslaught on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out the historic Al-Aqsa Flood Operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed more than 40,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 94,761 others.
Israel has targeted hospitals in its offensive, damaging or destroying Gaza’s most important medical facilities in a war crime and a blatant violation of international law.
The regime’s bombing campaign in Gaza has decimated the territory’s healthcare system, with 31 of 36 hospitals damaged or destroyed, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
