AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Authorities and people in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, have in recent weeks been making preparations for holding the Milad-un-Nabi Celebrations.
The annual celebrations mark the anniversary of the birthday of the holy Prophet (PBUH).
They have been among the main religious rituals of Yemeni Muslims for centuries, according to al-Maseerah.
In recent years, some extremists have objected to holding such events, calling them deviant and polytheistic.
However, Muslims scholars in Yemen and other Muslim countries have approved of the celebrations, stressing the importance of honoring the status of God’s last messenger (PBUH).
Officials of Yemen’s Ansaullah movement have also been eager to hold the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations as magnificently as possible.
This year, the celebrations will take place later in September.
Meanwhile, the second annual festival of Milad is underway in Sana’a’s at-Tahrir District.
The Quran teachings and sciences charity society has organized the festival, which will run through September 10.
The annual festival aims to promote the love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
This year, it also features activities aimed at voicing solidarity with the people of Palestine amid the ongoing genocidal war launched by the Israeli regime against the Gaza Strip.
