AhlulBayt News Agency: Three Israeli border guards were killed on Sunday morning in a shooting attack by a Jordanian truck driver who was shot dead by other guards near the Karama (Allenby) Crossing connecting Jordan and the occupied West Bank.
Hebrew media said that three Israelis guards were seriously injured in the shooting near the Crossing. Later, Israeli medics reported that the three injured Israelis had died from their wounds.
According to the Hebrew newspaper Maariv, the three fatalities in the shooting at the Karama crossing were members of the security forces of the Israeli crossings authority.
It was reported that the shooter was shot and left to bleed before confirmation of his martyrdom. The Israeli broadcasting authority mentioned that the military is investigating the possibility that the assailant was a Jordanian driver. Yedioth Ahronoth reported that a Jordanian truck driver, who came from Jordan to the crossing, drew a gun and opened fire on the Israelis in the cargo area.
Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance factions praised the shooting operation carried out by the Jordanian driver near the Karama crossing, asserting that it was a painful blow to the Israeli security. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said in a statement that the execution of the operation at the Karama crossing, from point zero, is a painful strike against the Israeli security system and a fiery message from a Jordanian youth against the crimes of the occupation in Palestine.
The Front emphasized that this operation is a legitimate response to the ongoing crimes perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and inside the prisons. It stressed that this operation proves the failure of the disastrous peace agreements in subduing Arab youth or undermining their national duties towards the Palestinian cause, highlighting that the brave Jordanian youth reflected the conscience of every Arab youth.
It called on the Arab youth to emulate the Jordanian youth, engage in the battle of honor and dignity, and defend the Arab identity of Palestine and its oppressed people.
For its part, the Palestinian Resistance Committees expressed its support for and endorsement of the shooting operation near the Karama crossing, noting that it occurred despite Israel’s heightened readiness and alertness, affirming the strength and significant effectiveness of the resistance.
The Resistance Committees affirmed that the operation at the Karama crossing, with its renewed creativity, represents a new blow to the Israeli security system.
