AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The ambassador of Sudan to Iran Abdulaziz Hassan Saleh Taha paid a visit to the Holy Shrine of the Lady Masoumeh (PBUH), and got acquainted with the history and architecture of the Holy Shrine during different historical periods.
The ambassador of Sudan to Iran Abdulaziz Hassan Saleh Taha along with Khalid Ibrahim al-Sheikh, his deputy, and a group of his companions visited different parts of Lady Masoumeh Holy Shrine in Qom on Saturday, September 7.
Getting to know the architecture and history of the Holy Shrine and its uses in each era, visiting the graves of scholars buried in the Holy Shrine, and visiting the courtyards and porticos were among the programs of this one-hour tour.
It should be noted that at the end of this visit, The Sudanese ambassador was gifted a volume of Holy Quran and a volume of Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya from the Holy Shrine of the Lady Masoumeh (PBUH) in Qom.
Sudan and Iran agreed last October to resume diplomatic relations, as the army-aligned government scrambled for allies during its war with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The Sudanese government has been loyal to the army in its 15-month fight against the RSF.
The Red Sea city of Port Sudan has become Sudan’s de facto seat of government since Khartoum became wracked by fighting.
This is “the beginning of a new phase in the course of bilateral relations between the two countries”, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Hussein al-Amin said.
