AhlulBayt News Agency: A group of Muslims from Mumbai announced on Tuesday the launch of a 12-day "Prophet For All" campaign aimed at raising awareness about the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The campaign, which runs from September 4 to September 16, coincides with Rabi-ul-Awwal, the Islamic month of the Prophet's birth, Deccan Herald reported on Tuesday.
Former MLA Yusuf Abhrani explained the campaign's objectives at a press conference, stating, "The idea behind this campaign is to create awareness for all, especially people of other faiths, on the life of the Prophet, to erase the growing misunderstandings about the message of Islam and spread the message of amity, peace, and brotherhood."
Now in its third year, the campaign includes inviting non-Muslims to visit mosques to observe Islamic practices.
Muslims are also encouraged to invite friends of other faiths to their homes for a dawat or feast during this period.
"We want whatever resentment is there in the minds of our Hindu brothers, it is our duty to do away with it. This is why we have started this campaign, which is not restricted only to Mumbai, but going on across the country," Abhrani added.
The campaign features a national-level blood donation drive with a target of collecting 50,000 bottles, aiming to set a new world record by surpassing the current record of 35,000 bottles in a day.
Additionally, 500 medical camps will be conducted across Maharashtra, open to people of all faiths. Other activities include legal aid camps and visits to schools, police stations, and old age homes.
In response to a question about the campaign's aim, Abhrani said, "We want positive things to happen and positive works to take place."
