AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The ambassador of Turkey to Malaysia described the Holy Quran as the foundation on which unity in the Muslim world should be strengthened in the face of challenges.
"The Quran is indeed a symbol of unity for the global Muslim community and all Muslims must internalize its teachings to ensure that the knowledge imparted is applied in their lives,” Emir Salim Yukse said.
"The challenges faced by the Muslim community worldwide are increasingly difficult, so by reading and understanding the context of each holy verse, it will further strengthen the existing unity," he said.
He said this during the Malaysia #Quranhour program held at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque in Putrajaya, on Friday.
The event was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas (WUIF) founder Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub.
The program themed "Merdeka Spirit: Deciphering the Rukun Negara" was guided by Surah Al-Jumu'ah and Al-Hujurat.
Further commenting, Emir said that Quran recitation programs in conjunction with the National Day should be held annually.
He added that Islam should be regarded as a way of life that could not be separated from social aspects.
"A free soul should be understood through brotherhood and devotion to Allah SWT," he said.
