The Custodian of Imam Reza shrine appreciated the hospitality of Iraqi shrines and the measures taken to decently host Arbaeen pilgrims.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Custodian of Imam Reza shrine appreciated the hospitality of Iraqi shrines and the measures taken to decently host Arbaeen pilgrims.

In his trip to Iraq to attend Arbaeen ritual, Hoj Ahmad Marvi, the shrine’s custodian, had separate meetings with the custodians of shrines of Imam Hussein, Imam Ali, Hazrat Abbas, Imam Musa al-Kadhim, Imam Javad and Imam Hassan Askari.

Talking about the Arbaeen million-man march in his meetings, Hoj Marvi explained, “Holy shrines in Iran and Iraq are factors for unity between the two nations”.

He pointed to the ancient civilization in the two neighboring countries, saying, “Many Islamic countries lack such a civilizational power; that is why enemies are scared of unity between these two nations in the region”.

Imam Reza shrine’s custodian further referred to the role of holy shrines in Iraq in directing the public to Arbaeen great march. “Arbaeen is a classic example of the impact of holy shrines on the creation of social capital and cultural mainstreaming; it can also play an important disciplining role in the Islamic world”.

He concluded his remarks by appreciating the great hospitality of the Iraqi people and the good cooperation of Baghdad’s government to welcome the immense number of pilgrims on Arbaeen.
