UN agency: Palestinians in Gaza lost absolutely everything

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has called life for Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip a “never-ending tragedy”.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The UN agency for Palestinian refugees has called life for Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip a “never-ending tragedy”.

In a post on X, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said on Monday that repeated evacuation orders by the Israeli regime forces had only fueled mass suffering for Palestinian families.

"Families across the Gaza Strip continue to be forced to flee, forced to leave their homes and belongings behind. All they can now do is try to stay alive," the UN agency said, reiterating its call for an immediate ceasefire.

UNRWA earlier said nine out of every 10 people across Gaza had been “forcibly displaced” during the Israeli onslaught on the besieged region.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) recently warned that Israel’s frequent evacuation orders have led to waves of displacement, overcrowding, insecurity, and collapsing infrastructure.

OCHA has said 90 percent of Gazans had been displaced over the past months.

In a separate development on Monday, media outlets, citing a senior UN official, reported that the United Nations’ humanitarian aid operations in Gaza had been halted after the Israeli regime issued new evacuation orders for Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip late on Sunday.

The official said the UN had relocated its main command operations for Gaza and most UN personnel to Deir el-Balah after Israel ordered the evacuation of Rafah in the south of Gaza.

“We’re unable to deliver today with the conditions that we’re in,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“We’re not leaving [Gaza] because the people need us there. We’re trying to balance the need of the population with the need for safety and security of the UN personnel.”

“Where do we move now?” said the official, adding that UN staff had to be moved so quickly that equipment was left behind.

Humanitarian organizations say no safe place has been left for Palestinians in Gaza as Israel continues to widen its savage military campaign across the besieged territory.

More Palestinians have fallen victim to non-stop strikes in Gaza as the US-Israeli genocidal campaign rages on.

According to local authorities, the regime’s forces have killed around 30 people within just 24 hours. This brings the total number of Gazans killed since last October up to 40,435, mostly women and children.
