The Shia community in Bamako, the capital of Mali, solemnly commemorated Arbaeen, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (PBUH), at the “Husseiniya” located in Hamdalaye, central Bamako.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Shia community in Bamako, the capital of Mali, solemnly commemorated Arbaeen, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (PBUH), at the “Husseiniya” located in Hamdalaye, central Bamako.

Arbaeen is a day of deep reflection and mourning, commemorating the tragic events that led to the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his devoted companions.

For the Malian Muslim community, this day also represents a powerful celebration of resistance and the enduring triumph of Imam Hussain’s ideals over the forces of tyranny and betrayal.

In an atmosphere charged with emotion, dozens of community members gathered to honor the sacrifices made at Karbala. Seïd Chérif Mouhamad Chouala Bayaya Haïdara, the community leader and speaker, expressed the collective sorrow and reverence for Imam Hussain's martyrdom.

"Imam Hussain (PBUH) was martyred not by another community, but by fellow Muslims. I’m talking about a great personality, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the son of Ali and Fatima. What is happening here today is a sign of victory,” he remarked.

In a conversation with Iran Press, Mouhamed Lamine Haidara emphasized the global impact of Imam Hussain’s martyrdom. "The martyrdom of Imam Hussain has been a triumph for the Shia community worldwide. It has revealed the true believers among the false ones.

Though he and his 72 companions and family members were martyred, the revolution he sparked continues to resonate, as people still follow his path. That is why we declare today, 'Labaika Ya Hussain!'"The commemoration in Bamako not only honored the memory of Imam Hussain but also reinforced the principles of justice, sacrifice, and unwavering faith that he stood for. His martyrdom serves as a beacon of hope and a call to action for Muslims worldwide, reminding them of the enduring power of righteousness in the face of oppression.
