AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The 22nd International Islamic Book Fair of Indonesia got underway in the capital, Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 14.
Publisher from different countries have put on display books on Islamic and Quranic sciences, Tafsir (Quran interpretation), Islamic beliefs, Fiqh (jurisprudence), etc at the book fair.
The international cultural event will run until Sunday, August 18, according to Ad-Dustur website.
The Muslim Council of Elders, one of Egypt’s major Islamic institutes, is among the participants at the book fair.
It has set up a special pavilion displaying more than 220 titles in different languages on various Islamic and Quranic subjects.
The books showcased at the pavilion are aimed at promoting Islamic thoughts and counter extremism, according to the officials of the council.
They address significant intellectual and cultural issues aimed at correcting misconceptions and spreading enlightened, moderate thought.
The pavilion also hosts seminars on a variety of subjects and the challenges facing Muslims.
They discuss issues like role of media in promoting dialogue and peaceful coexistence, moral education, and benefiting from religious teachings in promoting human values.
