AhlulBayt News Agency: A large number of rare books on Quranic and Islamic subjects have been put on show a book fair in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The rare books are from the collection held at the libraries of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

They feature such themes as Quranic sciences, Hadith and the Prophet’s (PBUH) Seerah.

They include both printed books and manuscripts, according to Al-Shoruq website.

One of the main printed books on display is a printed copy of the Sahih Bukhari printed in Cairo in 1286 after Hijra (1869).

On the sidelines of the book fair, a forum is planned to be held to discuss the impacts of AI on the future of literature, literary criticism and literary aspects of Quranic sciences.

The library of the Grand Mosque with more than 11,400 rare books is among the most important libraries in the Muslim world.

The books in this library include more than 8,500 manuscripts. There are 519 rare manuscript copies of the Quran in the library.

One of the treasures of the library is a handwritten copy of the Al-Kashf wa Al-Bayan fi Tafsir al-Quran by Imam Thaalabi Neyshaburi, a prominent Quran interpreter and reciter of the 4th and 5th Hijri centuries.
