AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, vice-president of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shia Council, condemned a deadly attack on Shia Muslims in Pakistan’s Parachinar.
Sheikh al-Khatib warned that such attacks could lead to foment discord among Muslims, which is what the enemies of the Muslim Ummah want, al-Nushra website reported.
He called on the Islamabad government to investigate the attack, identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The senior cleric also urged the people of Pakistan to remain vigilant against moves aimed at spreading sectarian strife.
Sheikh al-Khatib went on to say that Takfiri terrorism is a global problem that harms not only Muslims but others as well.
At least 44 people were killed and several others wounded after militant groups stormed the Shia-populated Parachinar district in Pakistan earlier this week.
