Mahfel TV show hosts to hold Quranic circles in Arbaeen

Hosts and qaris of Mahfel TV show will hold Quranic circles in various moukebs during this year’s Arbaeen procession, its producer says.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hosts and qaris of Mahfel TV show will hold Quranic circles in various moukebs during this year’s Arbaeen procession, its producer says.

“Mahfel TV show has determined several moukebs so as to organize Quranic circles in the path between Najaf and Karbala with participation of hosts and international qaris of the show, including Ahmad Abolghasemi and Hamed Shakernejad,” Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Hashemi told IQNA on Tuesday.

Mahfel, a Quranic TV show aired on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) during the holy month of Ramadan, has attracted millions of viewers who tuned in just before breaking their fast to listen to the Holy Quran.

The producer also noted that several Quranic circles were held across the country with the presence of the program’s top qaris to highlight the spirit of the Holy Quran in the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS).

The second season of the program was broadcast just before sunset every day in the holy month this year. It offered a spiritual oasis for viewers as they prepared to break their fast.

With a primary focus on the Quran, the show aimed to enrich the brief moments of respite for fasting individuals through insightful discussions and captivating recitations.

The Arbaeen mourning ceremony is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

It marks the 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS). This year’s Arbaeen is expected to fall on August 25, depending on the moonsighting.

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites. The pilgrims, mainly from Iraq and Iran, travel long routes on foot to the holy city.
