Imam Reza holy shrine’s Islamic Research Foundation has held a specialized forum discussing reflections of Ayatollah Khamenei’s letter to students in US universities.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Imam Reza holy shrine’s Islamic Research Foundation has held a specialized forum discussing reflections of Ayatollah Khamenei’s letter to students in US universities.

Addressing attendees as a keynote speaker of the forum, Alijan Eskandari, researcher of the Department of Studies of Revolution and Modern Islamic Civilization at Islamic Research Foundation said: “US universities witnessed demonstrations since mid April this year as a sign of protest against the Zionist regime's genocide in Gaza. These protests in more than 50 American universities expanded to the point where its scope was extended to some other Western countries including Canada, France, Italy, England, and Australia”.

Dr. Eskandari added: “Young people have a wakeful conscience and they have a curious mind. That is why the Supreme Leader wrote at the beginning of his letter: "I am writing this letter to the young people whose wakeful conscience has motivated them to defend oppressed children and women of Gaza".”

He went on to say: “Two requests were made in this letter. First, doing research and study over motives behind destruction of the image of Islam and secondly, trying to obtain direct and first-hand information about Islam in response to the actions taken to mislead the public over this religion”.

Also in the same forum, Hoj. Hamed Malakoutitabar, Iran’s cultural advisor in Syria and another speaker of the gathering said: “The main reason behind writing this letter was nothing but question of Gaza and Palestine as well as oppressions of Israel”.

Malakoutitabar added: “American students, the whole young people in the West, leaders of the United States and the Zionist regime, and finally the oppressed people of Palestine are the main addressees of this letter”.

He went on to say: “Messages of this letter are support, empathy and solidarity with oppressed people of Gaza and necessity of initiating united works over this issue. Also, decline of the occupying regime and standing on the right side of the history are other important messages of this letter”.
