AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Participants in the 'Karbala to Al-Quds' conference in Dar es-Salaam, Tanzania, underlined the need for the Muslim world to support the oppressed people of Palestine.
The three-day event was organized by the Khoja Shia community on July 26-28, according to the Iranian Cultural Center in Tanzania.
It included three scholarly sessions and three forums, with speakers from different countries talking about issues related to Palestine and the Gaza Strip.
“Spirit of Karbala and efforts to liberate al-Quds”, “Justice for the oppressed, a sacred Islamic duty”, “understanding Palestine and pivot of unity with a strategic approach”, and “Practical Islam, call for uprising” were among the themes they discussed at the forums.
Kadhim Dala, head of the Tabligh (propagation) committee of the Khoja Shia community of Tanzania, in his speech said Imam Hussein (AS) called for help before his martyrdom and it is the duty of every Muslim to answer the call.
Holding this conference is a step in the direction of fulfilling of this duty, he stated.
Iranian political expert Ali Reza Marandi was a special guest of the conference.
He said in his address, delivered via video-conference, highlighted Shia Muslims’ support for Palestine and defending human rights.
He added that the West has asked Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah times and again to stop backing in the Palestinians but the two have reiterated that this is according to the principles of the religion.
An exhibition featuring photos about Palestine and the occupation of Palestinian lands by the Zionist regime was also mounted on the sidelines of the event.
