Umm al-Baneen courtyard; A strategic project that provides services to +60 thousand visitors at a time

The total area of the Courtyard of (20) thousand square meters is distributed to include the basement, which occupies the entire area, i.e. 10 thousand square meters, and the first and second floors that are Iwans with an area of 4 thousand square meters per floor, and the middle square with an area of 6 thousand square meters.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Umm Al-Baneen (peace be upon her) Courtyard is one of the main expansion projects of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The total area of the Courtyard of (20) thousand square meters is distributed to include the basement, which occupies the entire area, i.e. 10 thousand square meters, and the first and second floors that are Iwans with an area of 4 thousand square meters per floor, and the middle square with an area of 6 thousand square meters.

Importance of the project

The Umm Al-Baneen Courtyard Project (Peace be upon her) contributes to achieving a number of goals, including increasing the capacity of visitors, as the project is expected to accommodate up to 60 thousand visitors at a time, which helps to reduce congestion and provide better services to visitors, according to engineer Dia al-Sa'egh, head of the engineering projects department supervising the work.

The Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, directed to increase the pace of work in the project, while maintaining its quality to serve visitors.

Materials of universal origin

The project is being implemented by the Iraqi Ardh al-Quds Company, funded by the Shiite endowment Bureau.

The head of the Department, engineer Dia al-Sa'egh, said:" the work was divided into three stages for the magnitude of the project, and the staff of the department completed the first stage, including digging the foundations, after planting concrete pillars, and fixing the perimeter of the entire project, and then completed the external walls and covered and treated with the necessary materials of moisture barrier, "pointing out that"the staff finished the work of reinforcing the shelf and pouring it with a mat foundation, and then poured the walls, besides pouring ceilings and floor."

For his part, the company's director, Engineer Hamid Majid Abbas, said that" the basement is air-conditioned and equipped with all services, from service halls, bathroom complexes and places for ablution, while the first floor contains outhouses overlooking the Holy courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl Abbas (peace be upon him), "pointing out that"the second floor will include spacious and large halls that will be prepared and arranged as needed to serve visitors".

The Umm Al-Baneen (peace be upon her) Courtyard will be equipped with modern equipment and materials from international sources, such as cooling, alarm and air intake devices, as well as equipped with stairs and electric elevators from a known foreign company; in order to provide the best services to visitors from the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, according to the company's director.

Ministerial commendation: high technical specifications

The director general of the Department of government investment programs at the Ministry of Planning, Mr. Adel Abdul Zeid, confirmed that the work on the projects of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine is sequential according to stages and with high technical specifications.

He visited the site accompanied by the head of the Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Mr. Dia al-Sa'egh, conducted by the ministry's delegation, on a number of projects of the holy shrine.

"We have noticed the construction that is being carried out within the required specifications, and we commend the efforts of the staff working and supervising these fruitful projects,"Abdel Zaid said.

"We hope to see work in the rest of the ministerial projects and non-related entities, as well as the governorates with the same quality as the projects of the holy shrine, as they are projects with sequential stages and high technical specifications according to the prepared programs,"he added.

New achievement

The Engineering Projects Department completed concrete pouring the penultimate roof of the Courtyard with an area of 1,400 square meters using reinforced concrete from its central plan, which reinforces the principle of self-sufficiency that the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine sought to achieve, as well as the commitment of the Iraqi executing companies to provide the best quality at all stages of the project.
