AhlulBayt News Agency: The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine (the procession of lovers) was organized for African communities in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon them) and his companions in the province of Najaf Al-Ashraf .
The march was supervised by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the holy shrine, represented by the Center for African Studies, with the participation of about 18 countries of the African continent.
The official of the preachers' Affairs Unit at the center, Mr. Muslim al-Jaberi, said that"the Center organized a March for African communities, which started from Imam Zain al-Abideen Street (peace be upon him) to the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in the province of Najaf Al-Ashraf".
He added that"the march was called (the March of the lovers) to extend condolences to the Commander of the faithful (peace be upon him) in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of his son Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon them)".
For their part, the participants in the march from the African Community stressed that "their march came as a victory for the Holy Quran, and a renewal of the Covenant and loyalty to the Commander of the Faitfhul (peace be upon him) and offering condolences to him on the memory of the at-Taf tragedy".
