For 11th year.. “Qanadeel al-Sama” procession commemorates 13th day of Muharram (+Photos)

The "Qanadeel al-Sama" procession commemorated the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and his companions on the thirteenth day of the month of Muharram.

Ahlulbayt News Agency: The "Qanadeel al-Sama" procession commemorated the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and his companions on the thirteenth day of the month of Muharram.

The sponsor of the procession, Mr. Ihab al-Oweidi, said: "the "Qanadeel al-Sama" procession, with the support of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, goes out on the thirteenth day of the holy month of Muharram and for the eleventh year with a condolence March, to commemorate the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon them) and his companions, and to extend condolences to Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), in this sad tragedy that befell the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)".

He added,"the procession consists of the servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) carrying (94) banners bearing the names of Imam al-Hussayn's convoy from his family (peace be upon them) and his companions, as (4) banners bear the names of the ambassadors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon them), (18) others for Bani Hashim (peace be upon them) and(72) banners on which the names of the Master of martyrs; Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon them) were written in the eternal at-Taf tragedy.

Al-Oweidi explained that"the procession started from Al-Alaqmi Street passing through the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas's (peace be upon him) Sanctuary and concluded with the establishment of a mourning Council in the Imam al-Hussayn's (peace be upon him) courtyard with the participation of a group of mourners visitors".

The holy city of Karbala witnessed today the start of a procession (mourning Bani Asad) and the rest of the clans living in the Holy Karbala and surrounding areas, and the start of these processions comes in commemoration of the burial of the holy bodies of Imam al-Hussayn and his family (peace be upon them) and his esteemed companions in Karbala.
