Iran, referring to record of Americans' assassination of own presidents, called anti-Iran allegations ridiculous

The Islamic Republic of Iran's mission at the UN, ruling out the alleged reports on its role in assassination attempt of Donald Trump, former US president, announced that these allegations are baseless and biased.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Republic of Iran's mission at the UN, ruling out the alleged reports on its role in assassination attempt of Donald Trump, former US president, announced that these allegations are baseless and biased.

Former US president, Donald Trump, survived a gunshot on Saturday July 13, during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and sustained superficial injury. The gunman was killed at the scene by police making it impossible to interrogate him and discover the mastermind behind the event. Some American media, however, in a bizarre move, prepared reports implying that the US officials had got information during the recent weeks indicating the Islamic Republic of Iran's plot to "assassinate" Donald Trump.

CNN, as usual, pointing to the American officials' receiving the information on Iran's plot to assassinate Trump from a "human source", wrote that the US secret service- which has the duty of protecting the life of senior officials- had bolstered the security situation of Republican candidates.

The Islamic Republic of Iran's mission at the UN, New York, issued a statement in which it ruled out these fake journalistic allegations about Iran's role in the assassination attempt, and announced, "The shooting incident against Trump can be considered as another symbol of the surge of political violence in the United States which has been on the rise during the recent years, especially after the attack on the US Congress by Trump's fans on January 6, 2021."

The statement adds, "A look at the US history shows that the officials, political leaders and the political and social activists have always been the targets of political violence and assassination in this country. The evident example of this issue is the assassination of John F. Kennedy, then US president in Dallas, Texas, in November 1963, the assassination of Robert Kennedy, Democratic presidential candidate in Los Angeles, California, in June 1968, and the assassination of Martin Luther King, leader of the Civil Rights Movement of African Americans in Memphis, in April, 1968.

The Islamic Republic of Iran's mission at the UN, stressed, "In view of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Trump is a criminal, who should stand on trial and be punished at the court for issuing the order of assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, former Qods Force Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. Meanwhile, Iran has chosen the legal course for making him accountable."

It should be mentioned that Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, former Commander of the IRGC Qods Force, globally known as the main factor for annihilating DAESH (ISIS) state, was targeted on January 3, 2019, in an aerial attack by the US invading and terrorist forces near Baghdad Airport alongside Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy Commander of the Iraqi Popular Forces (Hashd al-Shabi) and 8 other companions. This harrowing event occurred while Soleimani had traveled to Iraq upon the official invitation of the Iraqi leaders.
