The people in Berlin, the capital of Germany, hold mourning rituals in the Islamic centers of the city to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS).

AhlulBayt News Agency: The people in Berlin, the capital of Germany, hold mourning rituals in the Islamic centers of the city to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS).

Imam Hussein, the third Imam of Shia Islam, was martyred along with his family and companions during the Battle of Karbala in the 61st year after the migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Mecca to Medina. The Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram, is a day of profound significance for Shia Muslims worldwide, as it commemorates this tragic event.

With the beginning of Muharram month, the lovers of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) household attend the two Islamic centers of Berlin, Al-Turath and Al-Ershad centers, and observe mourning rituals during the first 10 days of Muharram to commemorate Imam Hussain's (AS) martyrdom.

Citing elegies, beating on chests, and delivering lectures about the Ashura uprise are among the programs performed during the first 10 days.
