AhlulBayt News Agency: The Shia People of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), the third Imam of the Shia, with the advent of Muharram month.

Imam Hussein, the third Imam of Shia Islam, was martyred along with his family and companions during the Battle of Karbala in the 61st year after the migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Mecca to Medina. The Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram, is a day of profound significance for Shia Muslims worldwide, as it commemorates this tragic event.

Lectures are given by Sheikh Suleiman, a dignitary Shia scholar who talked about the teachings and lectures about the happenings of the Karbala event and what the Ahlul Bayt were subjected to.

Sheikh Suleiman addressed the believers with inspirational words from Imam Reza (AS), the 8th Imam of the Shia, about mourning and shedding tears for Imam Hussein (AS).

The people also cited elegies of the tragedy of Karbala and beat their chests rhythmically as a sign of mourning.
