AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Senior Bahraini scholars underscored the need to use all capacities to promote the message of Imam Hussein (AS).
Sayyid Abdullah al-Ghuraifi, Sheikh Muhammad Salih al-Rabiei, Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour, Sheikh Mahmoud al-Aali, and Sheikh Ali al-Sadadi issued a joint statement on the arrival of the lunar Hijri month of Muharram.
In the statement, the scholars called for highlighting different manifestations of Muharram mourning and active participation of all groups in the mourning rituals.
They stressed covering building in black banners and flags that signify mourning the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS).
The statement said portraying the Husseini manners and remaining committed to his teachings and sublime Seerah by the Muharram mourners is very important.
Ashura mourners should be examples of commitment to Islamic laws and divine rules, the scholars said.
They also described organizing mourning rituals for martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) as revival of Islam.
Muharram is the first month in the lunar Hijri calendar.
Shia Muslims, and others in different parts of the world, hold ceremonies every year in the month of Muharram to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions.
The third Shia Imam (AS) and a small group of his followers and family members were martyred by the tyrant of his time - Yazid Bin Muawiya, in the battle of Karbala on the tenth day of Muharram (known as Ashura) in the year 680 AD.
