Ahlulbayt News Agency: The secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Murtada Aal Dia-Uddin, replaced the flag of the dome of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) from red to black, marking the holy month of Muharram 1446 AH.
The beginning of the ceremony was from the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, where the red flag was replaced with black one over the dome of the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), so that the eyes turned towards the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), to begin the ceremony of replacing the flag of the holy dome of his holy shrine, which was erected in the central courtyard of the Qibla gate.
The red flag was lowered from the dome of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as the secretary-general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was honored by lowering it, to raise in its place the black Ashura flag of sorrow and mourning.
Replacing the flag from red to Black is to declare mourning and extend condolence, which indicates sadness at the coming of the holy month of Muharram, in which Imam al-Hussayn, his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas, the people of his house and his companions (peace be upon them) were killed.
