AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) described late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi as the man of Jihad and one who sought the achievement of Ummah Wahida (united Islamic community).
Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari made the remark in an address to the second international webinar on “Martyr Raisi; Promoter of Unity, Man of Resistance”.
The online seminar was held on Tuesday.
He highlighted Martyr Raisi’s tirelessness in the field of Jihad and serving people and said he was also a true supporter of the resistance.
The late president defended the resistance in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and elsewhere in the region at the international arena, he stated.
In negotiations with neighbors and Muslim countries, he attached importance to Islamic unity and pursued the establishment of Ummah Wahida, Hojat-ol-Islam Shahriari added.
He also referred to the massive participation of Iranian people in the funeral of Martyr Raisi and said such a huge presence had only been witnessed in the funerals for Imam Khomeini (RA) and Martyr Qassem Soleimani.
President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation lost their lives after the helicopter carrying them crashed in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan due to harsh weather conditions on May 19, 2024.
