AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A senior Shia cleric referred to the plight of the people of Gaza and the Israeli regime’s genocide in the Palestinian enclave and criticized the world’s silence.
In a message to an international conference on “American Human Rights from the Viewpoint of Leader of the Islamic Revolution”, Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Nouri Hamedani said the world is witnessing the genocide being committed against the oppressed people of Gaza.
The 8th edition of the international conference was held at the University of Tehran on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2024.
Thousands of innocent children and people have been killed and many more injured in the 9 months of the Zionist regime’s offensive against the Gaza Strip, he noted.
There are over two million people who have been displaces and there is a severe lack of food and water in Gaza, he said, adding that the Israeli regime is also impeding the delivery of international aid.
“Where is the human conscience?” the senior cleric wondered, slamming certain Muslim countries that not only refuse to reconsider their ties with the United States, the main supporter of Israel, but also help Israel instead of helping the people of Gaza.
No nation has been subjected to more oppression and injustice than the oppressed people of Gaza, Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani went on to say.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is always a supporter of the oppressed people based on its religious duty but the resolution of the issue of Palestine requires the help and contribution of all Muslim countries, he stated.
Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani also said that the international conference on American human rights is an opportunity to shed more light on the US violations of human rights around the world.
