AhlulBayt News Agency: The New York Police Department (NYPD) announced that the forces of this state, during chasing, shot dead a 13-year-old boy who had pointed his "toy weapon" towards the police forces.
The videos released on the cyberspace show that the American police after knocking down Nyah Mway, the 13-year originally Asian teenager, beat him and then shot at his chest. Nyah Mway succumbed to his injury at 10 p.m. Friday night.
According to the US media, three officers involved in the event, including the one shooting at the said teenager, have been given paid leave.
The police of Utica city in the United States, has claimed that Nyah Mway was very similar to the young suspects whom the police officers were looking for.
Nyah Mway was the student of grade 8 at a high school and among the minority refugees born in Myanmar. According to his father, they had migrated to the US and resided in Utica, north of New York, since 8 years before.
An organization supporting the Myanmar refugees in the US announced that Nyah's family, who had escaped from persecution in Myanmar and lived in refugee camps for a while, would think that they could start a new life with no fear.
Researches of recent years in different American states indicate that racist behaviors have seriously increased against Asian inhabitants in the US.
Freedom of carrying weapons in the US causes violent shootings across the country on a daily basis. Many of these shootings are fatal, but the arms lobby is so powerful and influential in the US that the Congress has never been intent to take measures to restrict carrying of weapons.
Although the United States comprises only %5 of the world population, it is home to more than %31 of those who commit armed massacres.
