Erdogan warns West against ‘patting Israel on the back’ for Lebanon war plans

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey warns the West against “patting Israel on the back” for planning to attack Lebanon and ignite a catastrophic regional conflict.

AhlulBayt News Agency: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey warns the West against “patting Israel on the back” for planning to attack Lebanon and ignite a catastrophic regional conflict.

Erdogan said on Wednesday Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel is now setting sights on Lebanon and “we see that Western powers behind the scenes are patting Israel on the back and even supporting them.”

“Netanyahu’s plans to spread the war to the region will lead to a great disaster.”

Netanyahu said on Monday that the regime’s military forces are winding up the most intense part of the offensive in the Gaza Strip and will be able to redeploy to the northern border.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has repeatedly underscored the resistance movement’s military capabilities.

“The enemy knows well what awaits it.”

Nasrallah says Israel knows there will be no place in the occupied territories “that would be spared our rockets and drones.”

The United States, Israel’s staunch ally, claimed it was urgently working towards a diplomatic agreement that would deescalate tensions at the Lebanese border, but at the same time, it reassured its “ironclad" commitment to Tel Aviv.

Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin told Israel's minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant on Tuesday that President Joe Biden has pledged more than $14 billion in assistance for Israel in April.
