AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Celebrations will be held at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala, Iraq, for three days on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir.
Preparations have been completed for organizing the festivities the secretariat of the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine said.
Ali Kadhim Sultan, an official with the Astan, said the three-day celebrations will start on Monday, June 24.
They will include poetry recitations, raising of the Ghadir flag, cultural activities, and recitation of Tawasheeh (religious songs), he said.
He noted that a ceremony will also be held to mark the graduation of Husseini preachers.
There will also be celebrations on the auspicious occasions in other governorates of Iraq, Sultan added.
The walls of the courtyards and roofed spaces in the holy mausoleum of Imam Hussein (AS) have been decorated with green flags and banners ahead of Eid al-Ghadir.
The event of Ghadir, or Eid al-Ghadir is celebrated by Shia Muslims around the world every year.
It is among important feasts and happy holidays of Shia Muslims held on the 18th day of Dhul Hijjah in the lunar Hijri calendar.
It was the day when according to reports, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) as his caliph and the Imam after himself following an order from God.
