Ahlulbayt News Agency: A coalition of 19 Senegalese civil society organizations, known as the "War in Gaza" group, has written to the country's president demanding the severing of diplomatic ties with Israel in response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The organizations have also launched a petition to advocate for their cause. Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has publicly expressed his support for the matter, urging the head of state to join South Africa and other countries in defending the Palestinians.
The civil society groups held a peaceful protest last month and plan to organize another one next week. The petitioners remain hopeful that the president will respond positively to their demands.
