Arafah is the day of prayers and repentance
The day of Arafa - which is a day for dua, repentance and attention to God - is in this ten-day period. The dua of the day of Arafa, which is full of love and enthusiasm and was recited by Imam Hussain (pbuh) during Arafat ceremonies, is indicative of the spirit of love and enthusiasm that followers of the Holy Prophet's (s.w.a.) household should have during such days. Appreciate these days. The opportunity is yours
Best requests one can make are brought up in Dua Arafah
The last point about praying is ma’thur prayers. These are the prayers that the Imams (pbut) have said and they are the best prayers. First of all, certain requests have been expressed in these prayers which do not cross the minds of people like us. Through the words of the Imams (pbut), people can make those requests to God. In Dua Abu Hamza, Dua Iftitah and Dua Arafah, the best requests and needs have been expressed. If individuals can ask God for these things and manage to get them from Him, this can be a valuable resource for them. Second, in such duas, there are materials for humility and supplication. In these duas, the point is expressed with a language and tone that softens and humbles one’s heart. Love, passion and enthusiasm flow in these duas with articulate and eloquent words. We should appreciate the value of these duas and benefit from them.
In Arafah supplication, there are plenty of teachings that can only be expressed through prayers
There is another point which is related to the prayers we recite. Prayers that have been passed down through reliable sources contain many teachings which cannot be found anywhere else. One example is the prayers in Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya. In our religious sources, there are certain teachings that can only be found in Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya or in the written prayers from the infallible Imams (pbut), and these teachings have been expressed in the form of prayers. This is not to say that they wanted to hide these teachings from us: it is just that the nature of these teachings requires that they should be expressed in the form of prayers and they cannot be expressed in another way. There are certain concepts that cannot be expressed except in the form of praying. For this reason, we can find few such teachings in narrations or even in Nahjul Balaghah. However, we see many examples of such teachings in Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, Dua Kumayl, Dua Sha'baniyya, Imam Hussain's Dua Arafa, Imam Sajjad's Dua Arafa and Dua Abu Hamza Thumali.
