According to Al-Alam News Network, Gantz blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the failure to win the war in Gaza and emphasized that his presence in the war cabinet was due to a shared fate, not political partnership.

 

Gantz described his decision to leave the cabinet as difficult and painful, and urged Netanyahu to hold elections and form an internal investigation committee as soon as possible.

 

European Parliament elections

The European Parliament elections were held, marking the first elections since the UK's departure from the EU. According to the announced results, the voter turnout was 51.59%, an increase from previous elections. The results also showed that right-wing and populist parties performed well in the elections. The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) and the Identity and Democracy (ID) parties won 131 seats, ranking third after the European People's Party (EPP) with 184 seats and the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) with 139 seats. This shift has tilted the balance of power in the European Parliament to the right.
