Closing ceremony of 2024 Dakar Quranic festival held

The closing ceremony of the 2024 Dakar Quranic Festival was held by the representative of Al-Mustafa International University in Senegal.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The closing ceremony of the 2024 Dakar Quranic Festival was held by the representative of Al-Mustafa International University in Senegal.

In the closing ceremony of this festival which was held in Magicland Dakar cinema hall, in addition to students, professors, Quran memorizers, delegations from the countries of Mauritania, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau and government, scientific and religious personalities of Senegal, delegations representing the Moridiyeh Islamic sect, Tijaniyeh, Qadiriyeh, and Lahinyeh sects and in the diplomatic sector, in addition to the ambassador and associates of the Islamic Republic of Iran embassy, cultural consultation managers and representatives from some embassies of Islamic countries in Senegal such as Palestine, Sierra Leone and Lebanon were also present.

At the beginning of this ceremony, "Ahmed Ando", one of the Senegalese reciters and the representative of this country in the international competitions of Malaysia, recited the verses of the Holy Quran.

Next, "Bosu Jatra Anjai" was honored as the second runner-up in the field of memorizing the entire Holy Quran in the female student section of the International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Then, Hassan Asgari, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Senegal, in his speech, while appreciating the regional representation of Al-Mustafa International University for designing and implementing this Quranic event, expressed some features of the Holy Quran and also the stages of familiarity with the Quran.

"Sheikh Naseruddin Ahmed Saloum" representative of the Moridiyeh Islamic sect Khalifa and one of the active Quranic figures in Senegal, was another speaker of this ceremony who, on behalf of all the delegations present from the Islamic sects, called the Quranic festival held by Al-Mustafa University as an opportunity to expand and deepen divine knowledge among the youth and appreciated the many years of cultural and economic services of the Islamic Republic of Iran institutions, especially the scientific and educational services of Al-Mustafa University in Senegal.

Also, "Hossein Asadi", the representative of Al-Mustafa University, welcomed the attendees and guests of this Quranic conference and emphasized the readiness of the regional representative of Al-Mustafa University in Senegal for the growth and development of Quranic knowledge and activities, especially in the scientific and academic sector in the four countries of the region, especially the country of Senegal.

Before his speech, an illustrated report of the activities carried out in the preparatory, national, and regional stages of the Al-Mustafa Quranic Festival was shown.

In the section honoring the winners of the festival, the first to third winners of the three fields of interpretation, memorization of the whole, and recitation of the Holy Qur'an received a plaque of honor, a statue of the festival, and their awards from the hands of the ambassador of Iran, representative of Islamic traditions, advisor to the Minister of the Interior of Senegal, Sheikh Ahmed Si and the manager of Al-Mustafa regional office in Senegal.

This Quranic conference ended with the recitation of verses from Surah Furqan and the performance of Quranic prayer by the representative of Al-Mustafa International University.
