UNRWA: People in Gaza struggling to remain alive

“With almost no fuel available in Gaza, critical desalination plants have shut down. People don’t have near enough water,” UNRWA said in a statement on X on Tuesday.

Ahlulbayt News Agency: “With almost no fuel available in Gaza, critical desalination plants have shut down. People don’t have near enough water,” UNRWA said in a statement on X on Tuesday.

It added that “survival is a struggle. Families and children walk long distances in the heat for water. People need water to live – Israeli authorities must provide access now.”

The Israeli army on 7 May occupied the Rafah border crossing between Gaza Strip and Egypt, which served as the main artery for humanitarian aid and for the travel of the wounded and sick out of the enclave for treatment.

Few quantities of fuel were supplied by international agencies over the past few months that could operate water desalination plants but now fuel has run out with no new shipments allowed into the besieged enclave.
