The 35th demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini was commemorated in a ceremony in Belgrade.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The 35th demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini was commemorated in a ceremony in Belgrade.

The ceremony was held in the Iranian Embassy in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, with the participation of the Iranian Ambassador Rashid Hassanpour, and the Iranians living in Serbia.

Hassanpour pointed to the coincidence of the occasion and the Khordad 15 (June 4) upraise with the martyrdom of Iran's President Raisi in the recent crash incident happened for them.

He called the Islamic Republic, independence, and freedom are considered the great and eternal legacy of the late Imam Khomeini and considered the renewal of the allegiance his ideals the goal of holding the commemoration ceremony.

He highlighted the historic funeral procession of Imam Khomeini participated by several million people that showed his popularity not only did not decrease, but also increased.

The ambassador said that the path Imam Khomeini outlined for the Iranian nation is now being followed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and so far, it has been accompanied by many achievements in various fields.

Also, the head of Qom Islamic Center in Belgrade Saeed Khalilovic said in the ceremony that Imam Khomein's ideology is the continuation of the path of divine prophets and Ahl ul-Bayt and that one of the main futures of the school of thought is the accompaniment of knowledge and action. Playing a music video about the life of the founder of the Islamic Republic and the martyrs of the recent helicopter crash was among other programs of the ceremony in Belgrade.

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi along with Hojjatol-Islam Ale-Hashem, Friday Prayers Imam of Tabriz, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Malek Rahmati, General Governor of East Azarbaijan, pilot, co-pilot, crew chief, head of the security team were on their way towards Tabriz, northwestern Iran, when their helicopter crashed two weeks ago and all were martyred.

President Raisi and his colleagues were returning from the opening ceremony of an Iranian-Azerbaijani join dam project when their helicopter crashed.
