AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A group of Friday prayer imams and young cultural activists from Georgia paid a visit to Imam Reza shrine in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad and sat for talks with the Deputy for International Affairs.

Speaking in the meeting, which was held in Sheikh Tousi Hall of the Islamic Research Foundation on May 27, Hoj Mostafa Faghih Esfandiari said: “Georgia and other Central Asian countries speak both in their native tongue and in Russian. This is a good opportunity and media to promote Islamic teachings”.

Pointing to the recent disastrous chopper crash in northwest Iran that ended up in martyrdom of the late President Ebrahim Raeisi and his companions on May 19, the deputy for International Affairs in the shrine added: “We’re witnessing that people’s will is forced upon their governments these days in students’ demonstrations in Europe and the US”.

Hoj Faghih Esfandiari further addressed the youth, advising “We need to move on Imam Mahdi’s path both mentally and practically. To that end, we must embark on self-improvement, awareness and learning Quranic teachings so that we can boost our understanding”.

He also urged the youth to equip themselves with a firm belief in God to face enemies in the emerging soft war in the world.

At the end of the meeting, Hoj Faghih Esfandiari called on the Georgian convoy to do their best to invite more and more people to Islam until next year.
