‘All Eyes on Rafah’ images shared 40 million times globally

The AI-generated image ‘All Eyes on Rafah’ has been shared more than 40 million times since Israel’s onslaught on Rafah.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The AI-generated image ‘All Eyes on Rafah’ has been shared more than 40 million times since Israel’s onslaught on Rafah.

Global celebrities and citizens from all over the world are expressing their solidarity with the people in the besieged Palestinian territory.

The AI image has caught the attention of celebrities who were earlier tight-lipped about the war in Gaza and are now speaking up.

Within a week, the image has become the touchstone of solidarity with the people of Gaza.

All Eyes on Rafah first originated in February from the statements of Rik Peeperkorn, the head of the World Health Organization’s office for Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

While addressing the press conference, Peeperkorn said, “All eyes are on Rafah.” He passed these statements when Israel intensified its offensive in southern Gaza.

The statement was taken into use by pro-Palestine demonstrators to protest against the Israeli savagery.

The phrase reverberated globally after Israel’s deadly airstrike on the refugee tents in Gaza on Sunday, claiming the lives of innocent civilians. The attack attracted worldwide condemnation.

Since the start of the Israeli aggression, people went to the south which was considered a safe place. About half of Gaza’s 2.3 million population have moved to Gaza, in hopes of saving lives from indiscriminate bombing from Israel.

Ameera Kawash, a UK-based artist and researcher, said the virality of the AI image helps shine a global light on the crisis in the southern city.

“However, this messaging falls short — as many Palestinians and advocates have noted, ‘all eyes are on Rafah- and now what?’” she said. “The messaging should include calls for an immediate ceasefire, yet that has not worked so far, so it should also include demands for governments to sanction Israel now.”

Support for Palestine grows across the world amid an uproar over the Israeli regime’s crimes against civilians in Gaza.

The Israeli regime pushes deeper into Rafah, pressing ahead with its ground offensive in defiance of international calls.

The regime forces have reached the center of the city and reportedly seized a strategically important hill overlooking the nearby border with Egypt.

Israel has also deployed dozens of tanks to Rafah for a full-scale invasion.

The Israeli military has already targeted tents and camps sheltering displaced Palestinians twice since May 26, resulting in the death of scores of people, mostly women and children.
